Historic Jesuit Missions
There are several historic Jesuit missions in the area, established in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Iguazu Falls
Peak flows at Iguazu range up to 6,500 cubic metres per second, plunging through a series of 70-metre cataracts interspersed with moist forested islands at the lip of the abyss.
Iguazu River
The Iguazu River runs more than 800 miles through the Parana Uplands, gathering its waters for a final leap over Iguazu Falls before its confluence with the mighty Parana River a short distance downstream.
Wildlife of Iguazu
Wildlife within Iguazu National Park includes 44% of all birds in Argentina, numbering 422 species, together with giant otter, jaguar, ocelot, capuchin monkey, giant anteater, coati, and tapir.
