Visitors Center and Programs
Visitor Center: The Visitor Center is located in Ayala Cove, on the North side of the Island.

Programs: Interpretive services on the island are provided by State Park volunteers who are present at the historic sites on the island on Saturdays, Sundays and holiday from May through October. The volunteers also conduct special tours for schools, clubs and other groups. For more information, call (415) 435-3522

Food Supplies and Concessions
food supplies: A cafe is open May-October, and weekends in March, April and Nov.

Concessions: Weekends in March, April and Nov., and daily during May-Oct., a concessionaire operates a cafe and tram tours. Bikes can also be rented. From March-Nov.: Sea kayak tours around the island are available through Sea Trek at (415) 488-1000.

Visitor Impact
Dogs are prohibited on the island. Roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, and wood fires are also not allowed at any time.

There are no lifeguards; swimming can be hazardous.

Additional Information
Access to the Island is by Public Ferry or private boat.
