Visitors Center and Programs
Visitor Centers: Learn about the value of the coastal estuary to the environment and about the area's historical significance by touring the visitor center. Activities in the center focus on the history, use and preservation of the York River and its marshes.
Programs: Overnight camping trips; Native American programs; canoe trips on Taskinas Creek; Junior Rangers/Nature Explorers; fossil hikes; wildlife observations; night canoe trips; ghost night hikes; seine netting and estuarine life studies; fishing clinics; beach activities; hay rides and campfire programs.
Food Supplies and Concessions
Concessions: Vending machines with snacks are available at the visitor center and Croaker Landing; bait sold at Croaker Landing weekends April - October. Boat rentals (paddleboats, hydro bikes and jonboats) on a seven acre pond and canoes on Taskinas Creek; bike rentals (both cruiser and mountain bikes) available April - October from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. weekdays through park office pending staff availability; 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. weekends.
