Highest Memorial Day to September 30.

Permits
A free backcountry permit is required for overnight stays. Reservations are available for $15 from 1/1 to 5/15, or up to 24 hours ahead of your first night's stay. Fee permits are required for all watercraft. Permits are issued at the Moose and Colter Bay Visitor Centers and at the Jenny Lake Ranger Station.

Visitors Center and Programs
Visitor Centers: There are visitor centers at Moose, Jenny Lake, and Colter Bay, and an information station at Flagg Ranch. Colter Bay features an Indian Arts Museum, while Flagg Ranch features information about philanthropist John D. Rockefeller and the Greater Yellowstone area. Heading south from the Yellowstone NP south entrance, mileages are 2.5 miles to Flagg Ranch, 16 miles to Colter Bay, 33 miles to Jenny Lake, 48.5 miles to Moose, and 60 miles to the town of Jackson.

Programs: There are a variety of ranger-led walks, talks, and evening campfire programs in the summer.

Food Supplies and Concessions
Food/Supplies: There are several restaurants and stores inside the park. There are supermarkets in the town of Jackson.

Concessions: Concessions include rafting on the Snake River; bike, boat, and canoe rentals; guided climbing and mountaineering trips; and horseback rides.

Visitor Impact

Additional Information
Pets must be on a leash and under physical restraint at all times. Pets are not permitted on any park trails or in the backcountry.
