Highest March - October; lowest in December and January.
Permits
Free permits are required for all overnight stays in the backcountry, and are obtained at the visitor center on a first-come, first-served basis only. The maximum group size allowed is 12 persons, but smaller groups are strongly recommended to reduce impacts on the fragile desert environment.
Visitors Center and Programs
Visitor Center: The Arches Visitor Center is open every day of the year except December 25. It features interpretive displays, orientation videos, and staff on hand to answer questions and assist with trip planning.
Programs: There are a variety of guided activities from April through October. The popular Fiery Furnace Walks (fee) often fill a day or two in advance, so it is advisable to make reservations at the visitor center up to 7 days in advance.
Food Supplies and Concessions
Food/Supplies: No food or groceries are available in the park.
Concessions: Film, water containers, and books are available for purchase from the Arches Visitor Center.
Visitor Impact
Arches National Park is hot in the summer and very dry. Carry drinking water at all times.
