By car, take ferry service from North Sydney to Port aux Basques. Drive Trans-Canada Hwy (Route 1) 268 km to Deer Lake; leave the Trans-Canada and take Route 430 (the Viking Trail) towards St. Anthony; 32 km to the park entrance kiosk at Wiltondale (4 hrs.). The new Gros Morne Discovery Centre (open June 2000) is on the S side of Bonne Bay, one hr. from Deer Lake Airport and the Trans-Canada Hwy.
