The Chihuahua-Pacific Railroad is the main access to the region, stopping at Creel, Temoris, Bahichivo, and Posada Barrancas. Creel and eastern portions are accessible by bus from Chihuahua; the Batopilas Canyon town of Batopilas is served by bus from Creel. Foot or mule travel is required to reach most areas. Passenger cars provide limited access.
