Angeles National Forest

Los Angeles River Ranger District
The slopes of the San Gabriel Mountains are covered with spring-blooming chaparral which is broken only by densely-shaded riparian canyons. Thick stands of sycamores, alders, and cottonwoods grow along the banks of rocky streams while smooth granite precipices stand sentinel above. Tumbling waterfalls accentuate the landscape and give hikers a cool respite.

Permit Information
Adventure Passes are required for your vehicle if you park on Forest lands. Daily Pass - $5; Annual Pass - $30. Buy them at Clear Creek, Oak Grove & Little Tujunga Stations or at the Chilao Visitor Center.

Directions
From Los Angeles, drive north on I-5 to Hwy. 2, following it northeast into the Forest. This region is located to the left of Hwy. 2.

The Chilao Visitor Center is located on State Highway 2, about 27 miles north of the city of La Canada, CA (off Interstate 210).
