San Gabriel River Ranger District
Countless peaks rise out of the landscape to add a richness of texture to the horizon. Mixed pine, cedar, and fir forests blanket the slopes providing shelter to a variety of wildlife, including bears, bobcats, cottontails, badgers and more. Occasionally, if you have a sharp eye, you can sometimes spot bighorn sheep in the open ridgetop saddles. Mount Baldy, the San Gabriel Reservoir, and the Cogswell Reservoir are special regional highlights.
