Glacier National Park Glacier's weather is as varied as its landscape. Daytime temperatures in the valleys can exceed 90 F, while upslope, in areas above timberline, it is often 10-15 degrees cooler. Summer rainfall averages around 2-3" per month. Overnight lows throughout the park can drop to near 20 F and snow can fall anytime -- a foot of snow fell on the NE corner of Glacier in August of 1992. Strong winds predominate on the east side of the park. Prepare for a variety of weather conditions and pack accordingly. You may start the day in a t-shirt and shorts and need a parka by evening.
