From our earliest beginnings, when Trail Ridge Road in Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park became the focal point for our first bicycle tour, we at Timberline have always believed in 'pushing the envelope' of adventure. For better or worse, we've always sought an identity for our organization that would clearly distinguish Timberline from other adventure companies. And so, over the course of the 18 intervening years since we first rode Trail Ridge, the likes of the Glacier and Icefields Ramblers, Classic Canada and Colorado, River-of-No-Return and High Sierra have evolved as a continuing articulation of who we are.
Last season, we once again redrew the parameters of adventure as we launched our new Odyssey Series ? extended adventure experiences for those who love adventure. Rocky Mountain Magic was our inaugural program and was designed to set the tone for the future. Our original thought was to offer a different odyssey each season, and that remains our intention, but Rocky Mountain Magic last year was the best, and we can't bear to retire that adventure so soon. And so, for 2000, our Odyssey Series will have two constituents: Rocky Mountain Magic: Missoula-to-Jasper, and as promised, Palisades of the Pacific: Seattle-to-San Francisco.
