Lace up those hiking boots, grab your knapsack and head to the Rockies for the ultimate western hiking holiday. Rocky Mountain National Park is the showpiece of Colorado, and it has some of the finest hiking we have found anywhere. It is a magnificent land of glistening peaks, emerald lakes and hanging glaciers, and home to extensive herds of elk, deer and bighorn sheep. For five days we'll meander on foot and frolic for another day rafting the Colorado River. This tour is designed for the first-time hiker and each day's walk is 3-5 miles in length with elevation gains of 600 - 1000ft. For one looking for more of a challenge, some of the routes can be extended to include more difficult terrain.
